யார்பா நீ?

எஸ்.கேநான் நேர்மையாக சிந்திப்பவன். கூடவே ஓரளவு பொறியியலும் அறிந்தவன்.

சொந்த ஊர்?

திருவாரூருக்கும் நாகைப்பட்டிணத்துக்கும் இடையேயுள்ள கீவளூர் (கீழ்வேளூர்).
ஆனால் அங்கு சொந்தமென்று சொல்லிக்கொள்ள எவரும் இல்லை. எனக்குச் சொந்தமானது என்றழைக்க அங்கு எதுவும் மீதமில்லை. ஆனால் ஆண்டுக்கொருமுறை அட்சயலிங்க தரிசனம் (“கேடிலியை நாடுமவர் கேடிலாரே” – அப்பர்), மற்றும் அங்குள்ள அனந்தீஸ்வரர் ஆலயத்தில் அர்ச்சகர் மூலம் திங்கள்தோரும் வழிபாடு. ஊர் பெயரைக் கேட்டவுடன் எழும் உள்ளக் கிளர்ச்சி. இவைதான் எங்களை இணைக்கும் தொப்புள் கொடி!

வேலை “பார்ப்பது” :

இரெயில்வே துறையில். இயந்திரப் பொறியாளன், ஆனால் கணினித் துறையில் ஒதுங்கியுள்ளேன் – Management Information System. இதனை MISmanagement என்றும் சிலர் அழைக்கிறார்கள். மேலாண்மை தவிர நிகழ்ச்சிகளை ஒருங்கிணைத்தல், ஊரூராகச் சென்று செமினார்கள் நடத்துதல், பாக்கி நேரம் வெள்ளைத்தாள்களில் மை சிந்துதல். கோப்புகளை நகர்த்துதல். மீதமிருக்கும் நேரத்தில் அலுவலக அரசியல் இருக்கவே இருக்கிறது! ஆங்.. மறந்துட்டேனே, கம்ப்யூட்டர், ஆப்டிகல் ஃபைபர் மூலமாக ப்ராட்பேண்ட் இதெல்லாம் கிடைக்கும்போது சும்மா இருக்க முடியுமா? 😉

கனவுகள் :

என் கண்ணெதிரே எண்ணைக்கும் தண்ணீருக்கும் மாற்று கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். என் வாழ்நாளை பின்னோக்கிச் செலுத்தி (rewind my life), என் குழந்தைகளுக்கு நான் கொடுக்க மறுத்தவைகளையும், மறந்தவைகளையும் கைநிறைய அளித்து அவர்கள் மகிழ்வதைக் கண்நிறையக் காணவேண்டும்.

பிடித்தவை :

அழகு, நேர்த்தி, நேர்மை, செஞ்சீர்மை, சுத்தம், சிரிப்பு, நட்பு, கர்னாடக இசை (ஜி.என்.பி-யின் பக்தன் நான்), ஏ.எம். ராஜா, பி.பி.ஸ்ரீனிவாஸ் மற்றும் முஹம்மது ரஃபியின் தேன்மதுரக் குரல் (“திவானா ஹுவா பாதல்” – கேட்கிறதா?), குட்டிக் குழந்தைகளின் கன்னத்தில் குழிவிழும் கள்ளமற்ற சிரிப்பு, “தம்மக்களின்” மழலை, நல்ல ஆங்கிலம், பி.ஜி.வுட்ஹௌஸ், பார்கின்ஸன், ஆஸ்டரிக்ஸ் காமிக்ஸ், டக்ளஸ் ஆடம்ஸ், ஸ்காட் ஆடம்ஸ், கல்கி, தேவன், சாவி, சுஜாதா – தவிர, இணைய நுட்பங்கள்.

வெறுப்பது:

நம் வாழ்வின் மீது கடிகாரம் கொண்டுள்ள ஆதிக்கம்! (வக்த் கீ கைத் மேன் ஜின்தகீ ஹை)

பழைய நினைவுகள்:

“கரப்பு நக்கிய புருவம், கடைசி நேரத்தில் கீறிவிட்டு அனுப்பிய கண்கள், மைதானமான நெற்றி, ஏடாகூடமான ஷேப்பில் “வாணக்குழாய்” போன்ற மூக்கு, அசட்டுச் சிரிப்பு, “ஏமாந்த சோணகிரி” போன்ற தோற்றம் (“ஆ பைல் முஜே மார்”) – இத்தனையும் தாண்டி என்னை ஒரு பெண் காதலித்தாள் ஒரு காலத்தில். ம்ம்ம்ம். அது ஒரு இனிப்பான, உவர்ப்பான, துவர்ப்பான, பின் கசப்பான அனுபவம். அதையெல்லாம் ஏன் ஐயா கிளருகிறீர்கள்?

இலக்குகள் :

நாம் கடவுளாக வழிபடும் அனைவரும் வேற்றுலக வாசிகள் என்னும் எரிக் ஃபான் டேனிகன் (Erich von Däniken, author of “Chariots of the Gods?”) கூற்றுடன் முழுமையாக உடன்படுபவன் நான். அந்தக் கருத்தை நிரூபிக்க மேலும் சான்றுகள் சேர்க்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டு, அதன் கிளையாகத் தோன்றிய பற்பல கோட்பாடுகளைப் பற்றிய சிந்தனை. சிவலிங்க உருவைப்பற்றிய சரியான விளக்கம், Vedic embryology – இப்படிப் போகின்றன என் இலக்குகள்.

மேன்மேலும் புத்தகங்கள் வாங்கிச் சேர்க்காமல் அந்துருண்டைகள் துணையோடு பரணை அலங்கரிப்பவைகளை எப்படியாவது வாசித்து முடிக்க வேண்டும். தேடித்தேடிச் சேர்த்த ஆடியோ கேஸட்டுகளின் நாடாவில் ஒட்டியிருக்கும் இரும்புத்துருவின் முதுகின்மேல் காந்தக் கோடுகளாகப் பின்னிப் பதிந்திருக்கும் பழைய இசைப் பதிவுகள் டிஜிடல் முறைக்கு உருமாற்றம் செய்யவோணும் (மற்றும் ஸிடி, டிவிடிக்களையும்). என்றாவது ஒரு நாள் external hard disk–களில் பதுங்கிக் கிடப்பவைகளை ஒருமுறையாவது எட்டிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும்!

  31. Hello sir, I read post on making ildis titled ‘Sirundiyin sigaram’ and deeply impressed about the way its written. I’m very thankful for the elaborate narration and so many tips and care for making idlis. My mother and mother in law makes very good idlis. Even after making so many inquiries with them I coulndn’t succeed in making spongy idlis. Here are few of the mistakes in the idlis I make:

    1. I live in a hot place, yet my idli maavu doesn’t have air bubbles like the ones you mentioned. The maav is fermented well and it raised up well, yet its not fluffy like how you mentioned.

    2. The idlis I make are soft on the corners but they extremely hard in the middle.

    What could be the mistake I’m making. I grind flour with so much of care, still couldn’t succeed in making softer idlis. I use the same ratio of rice and urad dhal as you had mentioned and they are of good quality too.

    Please ask your wife to guide me.

    Hoping to make softer idlis for my kids.
